OVERSEAS VARIETY f : l '“WATCH YOUR STEP” ? r v . . : Ophir Rees overseas variety re 7 vue, “Watch Your Step” which will be presented in the Grand Theatre on Wednesday, February 5, is a fa lstmoving variety show, with the emphasis on variety. Big Joe Lawman, Australian comedian, described by critics as “a ton of comedy,” is featured in the production. He is a first-rate entertainer ' and a ready laugh provoker—but he does not dominate the programme, for he is accompanied by a splendid team of overseas specialty artists, some of whom are stars in their particular style of entertainment. Associated with Lawman are such outstanding specialty turns as Rovston, triple-voiced ventriloquist, an entertainment in itself; the Siscos, whirlwind jugglers; Jandy, the musical clown, reappearing before New Zealand audiences after an absence of TO years. Le Harlejq a magician; Jarrett, a novelty entertainer; Eileen Bourke, singing violiniste (she does both at the same time); the Morrell HI Trio, yodellers to the -accordion; Joy Robins, dashing comedienne and soubrette; Adele Taylor and Maurice Tansley, vocalists, together with Sherry, swing songsters and Ophir' Rees, who- also reveals his versatile ity.
