THE ROYAL TOUR

EAGERLY AWAITED BY PRINCESSES

Princess Elizabeth and Princess Margaret are learning Afrikaans in preparation for their visit with the King and Queen to South Africa early this year.

Languages come easily to the Princesses. Already they are fluent in French, German and Spanish.

It will be some weeks, if not months, before details of the tour are decided.

A decision as to how the King and Queen will travel has yet to be made, but it is likely that the outward journey will be by sea, and that the Royal Family will fly home. This will enable them, within the limited time available to visit Southern Rhodesia and other territories on their way back.

The two Princess are greatly excited about their South African tour. Princess Elizabeth is a keen student of constitutional history and has a wide knowledge of the machinery of government in the Union. Now she is looking forward to seeing at first hand how the country is administered.

Princess Margaret wants to ride over the open veldt. Both Princesses are experts in horsemanship, and they are certain to enjoy this sport in South Africa.
