All For a Bottle of Beer
A strange story comes from a farm not 100 miles from Hastings. On a recent day, a cow fell into a drain and all the efforts of the farmer and his family failed to extricate it. In desperation the farmer gave the cow a bottle of beer and to the astonishment cf those assembled she got herself out of the drain. But here is the sequel, for the next day the cow was in the drain again and the same method of removal was adopted. The story does not relate if the same performance was repeated again.
