THE FRIVS
PRESENTATION IN WHAKATANE Tomorrow evening, the Napier Frivolity Minstrels will offer their unique presentation to the public of Whakatane. “The Sleeping Beauty” the pantomime which is to be presented has made an immediate appeal in many centres, and it can be expected that Whakatane will be no exception.
It is many years since the public has had the opportunity of seeing the frivolous make believe of a pantomime, and the one to be presented by The Frivs will bring back many happy recollections. Although the presentation has been modernised in language, song and idiom, it has lost none of the glamour of old beliefs and colourful costumes. The acting is, of course, first class, and the casting has obviously been studied with an eye to making the character ‘speak for themselves’ through their very dress and bearing. The music and humour sustained throughout the play is of the same standard. In short, the Company has accomplished what it set out to achieve—a splendid entertainment and a musical treat—both of which will be strongly appreciated by Whakatane audiences.
