Public Bar For Women

Women drink in the public bar of one Sydney hotel, the Regent. They prefer the off-peak hours, from 10 a.m. until about 4 p.m. every day except Saturday. It is the only Sydney hotel where the public bar is open to women. Women can drink in the saloon bar of a Rose Bay hostelry which has tables set along the side at one end. The practice is common in America.
