MODERNISING CAMPING GROUND
THE open-handed attitude of the Borough Council with regard to bringing our much-criticised motor camp up-to-date will be warmly applauded. For years now the area adjoining the Domain, has barely earned the right of the title, and complaints have been legion. However it fulfilled its purpose during the war years when road traffic pared down to a bare minimum. With an active policy of development, the site with its background of gumtrees could be made a most attractive one, more in keeping with the town’s growing status as a progressive centre and as a jumping-off place for a hundred beauty spots on the coast and inland.
