The Hazlett Gold Cup The Hazlett Gold Cup, run at Dunedin, was won comfortably by that fine stayer, Golden Souvenir. He carried 9.12 and traversed the mile in 1.40 4-5 seconds, without being extended. He has arrived at Trentham in the pink of condition and is a firm favourite for the Wellington Cup. Kindroon Improving One of the improved horses at Ellerslie this month is Kindroon, who should strike winning form in che near future. Back to Winning Form Flying Gold, winner of the Stratford Hack Cup, is a seven year old to the good performer Lady Pay by Auto Pay—Archella. Bred in England Visitors to the Stratford fixture were treated to a fine exhibition of galloping by the imported hoise King Tissa, who scored a runaway victory in the Toko Handicap. He is owned by Mr J. G. Alexander, of Wanganui, and is trained by H. Dulieu at New Plymouth. He is engaged at the Wellington meeting. Three in Succession
The Opotiki bred Foxbridge Llangollen gelding Provider, lately transferred to hurdle racing, has won in his last three starts ovei the battens, and is now highly assessed in the jumping department. Findon Spelling
The Gisborne top ranker, Findon, is again on the easy list consequent upon a recurrence of hock trouble, and will not be competing at the Wellington fixture. May Soon Be Ready
Te Rapa’s classy galloper, Swift Quarry, is executing much improved work on the tracks, and is likely to add to his winning total before long. He has not had an uninterrupted training term this season, but is close to striking form now.
