wHakatane club FINAL FOURS CONTEST Trial fours which were rowed on Saturday. January 18, for Mr S. Carter’s trophies. Owing to a number of members still being away there were only two crews competing. Distance of race one mile. Results:— G. Dines (stroke), W. Rivett )3), D. Morpeth (2), G. Moore (bow). Windley (cox) defeated L. Carey (stroke), E. Hunt (3), K. Ellis (2), B. Fitzgerald (bow), Jaram (cox) by one length and a half. Rowing challenge for King’s Cup at Tauranga January 18. Crews competing as follows: King’s Cup Crew: L. Carey (stroke), E. Hunt (3), G. Dines (2), G. Moore (bow). Heavies: F. Price (stroke), D. Stewart (3), B. Cutler (2), D. Debreceny (bow). Lights: A. Head (stroke), W. Rivett (3), A. Atkinson (2), D. Kahui (bow). Youths: K. Burt (stroke), N. Armstrong (3), A. Edmondson (2), K. Dines (bow).
Schoolboys crew to be picked at a later date.
Crews please note bus leaves shed at 8.30 a.m. sharp on Saturday morning. «
Following Saturday, January 25, the Rowing Club will be sending two crews to the Hamilton regatta.. Further details of crews will be announced at a later date.
