Miss Marie Hall has left Whakatane to spend a few days in Auckland with relatives. Miss Daphne Whiter has returned to Auckland after spending the Christmas vacation in Whakatane. Mr J. Creeke who is at present holidaying in Sydney wrote to the Borough Council last Monday evening indicating the great difficulty he was experiencing in booking a- return passage to New Zealand, and. stating that the earliest passage he can book is in April next. The council decided in view of the shipping position to extend Cr Creeke’s leave of absence by a further six months* j
