WAIMANA NEWS

SUCCESSFUL DANCE & SOCIAL ST. JOHN’S CADETS The social and dance which was held in the Waimana Hall recently by the Cadets of the St. John Home Nursing Division, was quite a success. The items presented by the girls were all weft received by the large audience present. The dance music was supplied by the Waimana Orchestra.

The M.C. was Mr D. Woolfield. The opening items was popular choruses sung by the members, all being dressed in their Cadet uniforms. Other items were Nigger Min- / strels (with Miss Nola Rust as solo tap dances), choruses of 1918 were sung the singers being dressed in keeping with that period. Modern choruses were also sung the girls wearing evening frocks. A play entitled “Wedding Bells” was very well presented by Miss Katherine Wardlaw and Miss Nola Rust and tiny Janice Boynton. Both young and old enjoyed the Monte Carol and other novelty dances to the full. After a most delicious home made supper had been enjoyed, dancing continued until midnight, and the National Anthem closed the evening.
