NEW SUBDIVISION

EXTENDING OHOPE BEACH COUNTY COUNCIL’S APPROVAL Writing the County Council last week, Mr R. Cobbe enclosed a plan of proposed subdivision of 91 acres at-Ohope Beach. If this subdivision was approved he undertook to kerb, channel and metal the footpath .of approximately 20 chains fronting the property, providing the expenditure did not exceed the sum of £4OO (four hundred pounds). He stated that he would put in any drainage scheme specified by the County Engineer and was prepared to entertain any suggestions for the improvement of this area that the council may suggest. The Engineer stated* that the area was near the Ohiwa end of the beach and would supply the demand for new sections at Ohope. The plan was formally approved provided the drainage of the land and road formation was properly carried out to the satisfaction of the council’s engineer.
