NURSES FOREGATHER

BAY OF PLENTY ASSN. - On a recent Saturday, a very pleasant afternoon was spent at the residence of Mrs F. Prideaux, when over 40 members of the Bay of Plenty Branch of the Registered Nurses’ Association (including visiting members from Tauranga and Rotorua branches) gathered to meet Miss Menzies the Executive member for the districts. After being welcomed by Miss Runciman and presented with a shoulder spray on behalf of the Bay of Plenty members, Miss Menzies spoke on the affairs of the Association, many points of interest being brought forward. At the conclusion of the address a hearty vote of thanks and appreciation was accorded the speaker. A short discussion followed including suggestions for remits to the conference. Advantage was also taken to farewell Mrs Corbett, the branch treasurer. Mrs Corbett was presented with a bouquet and a book with the members’ best wishes. Afternoon tea was served and a pleasant hour was spent chatting and viewing the garden and grounds. A vote of thanks was accorded Mrs Prideaux for her hospitalty. Floral tributes were also presented to Miss Runciman (President) and Miss Armstrong (Secretary).
