Accident Sequel

Sequel to a road accident which occurred some months ago was heard in the Whakatane Magistrate’s Court last Tuesday, when Norman William Carter, Secretary-Manager of the East Coast Herd Improvement Association, claimed the sum of £127 3s 7d damages sustained to his car, plus £lO general damages from Tom Wahaponga Kingi. Plaintiff gave evidence to the effect that he was involved in a head-on collision with Kingi who was driving a truck on the wrong side of the road. The car was extensively damaged, and > he was without the use of it for 5 or 6 weeks. £127 3 s 7d represented the repair bill for work all of which was rendered necessary by the • smash. The Magistrate awarded the full sum of £137 3s* 7d with costs amounting to £6 Is 6d.
