EMPLOYMENT SURVEY
FURTHER INDUSTRIES /. The District Office of the National Employment Service has released further figures concerning groups of industries within the RotoruaBay of Plenty area. The Printing Publishing and Photographic group which comprises 12 units, employes 55 males and 46 females, excluding working proprietors, who number 12. Compared with the previous April, this group has increased its labour content by 5 men and 9 women. At the moment vacancies exist for 2 males and 3 females. Persons employed on a part-time basis are not included in the above figures. They however are few, comprising 3 males and 5 females. With regard to clothing and footwear manufacture, and footwear repair, 9 units operate in the district and employ 10 males and 75 females, excluding working proprietors who number 7. There has been only a slight increase of 2 in the labour content of the group since the April figures were published. No part-time workers are engaged. This group is of special interest to the district because it embraces two concerns that have comparatively recently "‘decentralised”; one on the clothing side in Tauranga, and one on the footwear, side in Rotorua. The group is apparently well catered for for labour at the moment, as vacancies exist for only 2 males and 1 female.
