ST. JOHN AMBULANCE

ANNUAL REINSPECTION DISTRICT UNITS . The annual reinspection of St. John Ambulance Brigades and Nursing Divisions took place in the Association’s newly opened and dedicated Hall last Saturday evening. The order of inspection was as follows: Whakatane Men’s Brigade; Edgecumbe Men’s Brigade;. Whakatane, Edg'ecumbe and Waimana Nursing Divisions; Waimana Cadet Nursing Division, and the Whakatane Cadet Nursing Division. The inspecting officer was District Commissioner Cobb, who later presented to Cadet Manning, a Grand Prior’s Badge. Cadet Manning, if was intimated, won the badge whilst a member of the Frankton Cadets. He was now a member of the Whakatane Men’s Brigade. Following the reinspection, the evening was devoted to a social gathering, with dancing and items. During the function, short addresses were given by Mr Parker (Chairman South Auckland Centre). Mr Canning (Chairman Whakatane Association) and Mr Cobb. Items were rendered by the Whakatane and Waimana Cadet Nursing Divisions, and a musical trio consisting of Mr Litchwark (cello), Mr Albiston (violin) and Mr Watson (piano). The function concluded at midnight.
