RAYON PRODUCTION IN AMERICA

Domestic rayon production, in the first six months of 1946,. set a new half-year record with a total of 425,000,000 pounds, an increase of 8 per cent, over 1945 and 7 per cent, over the final half of last year, Rayon Economics Bureau, Inc., reported recently.

In contrast, second quarter acetate yarn production attained a new quarterly record, exceeding the former peak level established in the first quarter by 2 per cent. Similarly staple fibre output set a new record, 4 per cent, above the first quarter.
