Y.F.C.

PORKER COMPETITIONS

At the quarterly meeting of the District Executive Committee of Young Farmers’ Clubs of the Eastern Bay, which was held recently, conditions governing the Combined Y.F.C. Porker Competition were outlined.

It was intimated that pigs, to be eligible, must be entered in the Y.F.C. Porker Class only, at one of the following shows: Waihi, Tauranga, Katikati, Te Puke, Whakatane, Opotiki. The competition was open to Porker pigs of any breed or crossbreed, estimated “weight on hooks”, 00/ilolbs., most suitable for export, or local trade. Only cictive Y.F.C. members would be permitted to enter.

, There was a further report to the effect that the Auckland Farmers’ Freezing Co. Ltd. had donated a Shield for perpetual competition between Bay of Plenty Young Farmers’ Clubs, to be held for one year by the club to which an individual member’s entry secures the most points' “on the hooks.” A further trophy in the form of a miniature cup was to be donated each year, to be won outright by the winner in each district (Western and Eastern Bay of Plenty) in the Bay of Plenty Pig Council district “on the hooks” competition.
