Acceptances Missed • The Hastings trainer, J. M. Cameron, missed the N.Z. Cup and Steward’s Handicap acceptances with Carnforth and Da Vinci, through an oversight in the posting of a letter. The candidates may be taken down to compete in the second and third days of the meeting. *
N.Z. Cup The second acceptances for the N.Z. Cup are due on November 18, on which date there will be a further thinning out of the entrants. Turf Career Ended Bernborough, acknowledged to be the best horse produced in Australia who suffered a breakdown while contesting the McKinnon Stakes at Flemington, has a remarkably fine record on the. turf. In 33 starts he registered 26 firsts, two seconds and three thirds.
Sprint May Be Selected The Bulandshar mare, Soneri, winner of six races in succession recently, is in both the N.Z. Cup and Steward’s Handicap. It is expected that the sprint event may be selected for her.

Shadow King \ ’ When he won the Hurdle Handicap at Tauranga in July last MrS Bowler’s Shadow King by Diatorrious—Whirlmint, gave promise of developing into, a successful performer. Recently he unsuccessfully raced at Tauranga and'Whangarei. Nevertheless it is stated that last month a. four-figure price was put on the gelding. ,
