Ready Money For Car

A surprise awaited a motorist on emerging from a hotel in Hamilton on a recent morning when he found a stranger occupying the driving seat of his car. On being asked the reason for his presence the stranger inquired whether the motorist desired to sell the vehicle. The owner demurred, but eventually they decided to go for a short trip. The stranger asked the owner to name a price for the car, a small model of pre-war vintage, and the owner suggested £3lO. To his surprise the stranger immediately produced 31 £lO notes and handed them over.
