NATIONAL PARTY

CARD AND MAHJONG AFTERNOON

The Ladies' Committee of the Whakatane branch of the New Zealand National Party Once again organised a most successful card and mahjong party at the residence of Dr. Appleby, Domain Road. A large gathering of members and supporters filled the spacious rooms which were most artistically decorated with large bowls of blossom and spring bulbs.

Afternoon tea was served by members of the committee and during this break Miss North, the president, thanked all members and supporters and especially the hostess, Mrs Wales, who had done so much to make the afternoon so successful. '
