High Prize Money The 1946 Auckland Trotting Cup will be worth £3600 in prize money. The best candidates from different parts of the Dominion will be in the contest.
C..T.C. Stewards Handicap The five year old fielding, Red Pickle, by Salmagundi—Lumiere, a winner at the Dunedin meeting, is being fancied for the C.J.C. Stewards Handicap,, an event the owner, Mr A. H. Fisher, won two years in succession with Comic Song. Dividend Over £BO The Broiefort gelding, Fdllow Suit, winner of the Trial at Otaki, returned a win dividend of over £BO. Earlier in the day he was a quiet tip for the event but he did not appeal to, those told of the likely victor. The N.Z. Cup Southland’s hope for the N.Z, Cup is the well performed. Signal Officer by Salmagundi. His record last season was 10 starts for five wins, two seconds and a third. Plans For Cracroft It is stated that CraAoft’s next contests will be in the Waikato Cup, one mile and a half in November, and the Auckland Cup on Boxing Day. Engagements For Majesty The Great Northern Guineas winner, Majesty, will not be a contestant in the N.Z. Derby. He is expected to be in the Waikato Cup field, one mile and a half in November, and that for the G.N. Derby in New Year week. In the latter event he may be called upon to meet the boom colt, Loi’d Barwon.
