Beer for the Troops

Approximately 30,000 dozen bottles of large beer will be shipped from New Zealand to Japan for Christmas, depending upon the number of bottles that can be obtained. For the J Force to get the beer, it will be necessary that the holiday season in New Zealand should be observed with a larger proportion of draught beer than is usual. The beer will be part of a 2000-ton shipment containing stores which are due to leave the Dominion by mid-October. This ship is calling to pick up trucks and other Army equipment for the force and is the only one taking supplies to Japan for some time.
