Phantom Planes
- The roar of a flight of bombers taking off at the rear of the Air Training Corps headquarters attracted many curious glances from passers-by in the Strand last Monday. The noise, as it happened, was concrete enough, but the planes' were almost non-existent. The whole illusion we discovered came from a 16mm. sound movie projector which was being operated inside the building. The amplifier was producing the most convincing engine noises, but the planes themselves were little more than a few inches square on one of the white walls of the interior.
