Subsidy For Butchers
About 1450 butchers in the Dominion received a meat subsidy during the year, under authority of the War Cabinet, at the rate of Is 7d for every £1 worth of coupons, related back to weight, as from November, 1944 to October 31, 1945, and at the rate of 2s 4d from the latter date. Payments made for the year ending March 31 last totalled £644,000.
