National Savings

Last week 298 places throughout the Dominion obtained their weekly quotas of National Savings. This is the highest number recorded in any week (other than during war loan periods) since the introduction of quotas in October, 1941. All the principal centres were successful and in every postal district the full district objective was achieved. In ten of the 20 postal districts every locality obtained its individual quota for the week, while in the Timaru and -Greymouth districts 'the attainment of the full year’s district quota was recorded.
