RATIONING CONTROLLER NiW RATION BOOKS v On issue from Monday, 14th October, 1946 New Ration Books (6th series) will be issued between Monday 14th October and Friday Stated*' of where and at what times to obtain your books will be found at the foot of this advertisement. If not othwise Stated,, all Money Order Offices will be issuing offices. Help yourself and the Post Offices by making ear y pp HOW TO GET THE NEW BOOKS (1) Fill in AT HOME the application form on Sheet 15 in your present ration book. (2) This form must be signed by the holder of the book, if 16 years of age or over. If under 16 by a parent or guardian. However, if under 16 but living and working away from home, the holder should sign his or her own book. In the case of children living at boarding schools or in institutions, forms must be signed and presented by the principal of the establishment, not by a parent. (3) Take your present ration book with you to the issuing* office (with Sheet 15 filled in and signed). (4) DO NOT TEAR OUT SHEET 15 from your presentbook. Hand the whole book to the issuing officer, who will' return it with the new book. , (5) Applications for all the family may be presented by any responsible member of the family. (6) Applications for those sick or disabled may be presented by some other person provided the application form* Jias been correctly filled in and signed. SPECIAL CASES SUPPLEMENTARY RATION BOOK, EGG SHEET BUTTER CARD: (a) Those at present holding a sth series supplementary ration book WILL NOT receive a mw one but will continue to use their old book. But they may present this old book to the issuing officer who will give them a new priority egg sheet and a no w •xtra-allowanee butter card, (b) Expectant mothers making tho.r first application after 14th October (supported oy doctor s certificate) will receive a new 6th series supplementary ration book (R.B.ic) which includes the priority egg sheet. They will also receive an extra-allowance .butter card. (c) Persons 70 years of age and over will be given extraallowance butter coupons if they present evidence of age. If at present getting extra butter no further evidence of ago need be produced. Permits will be issued with books from which meat coupons have been removed. NEW HOSIERY CARD: A new 12-months hosiery card will be issued to all women who will reach the age of 16 by Ist March, 1947. New applicants must present evidence of age. The current card, X 202, has been extended to 30th November, 1946. ARMED FORCES: Mpmbers of the Armed. Forces living out of camp must present Form R. 8.4 (issued by the Commanding Officer) with their old ration books. LOST RATION BOOKS: If the current ration book Is lost (or If you have never been issued with one) apply at the issuing "office inquiry counter. VALIDITY OF COUPONS: Food coupons in new ration books will be usable from the 28th October in accordance with the coupon calendar printed on back covqr (with the exception of every fourth butter coupon). Clothing ooupons in new books R. 8.1, R.8.1a and R.8.1b are not usable until Ist December, 1946. Clothing coupons In new supplementary hook R.B.ic are usable immediately on issue of book. Hosiery coupon X 303 on new card Is not valid until announced. Remember to Apply Early for Your New Ration Books .
For the purpose of facilitating the issue of Coupon Books the Whakatane Post Office will be open on FRIDAY 18th & 25th OCTOBER from. 6.30 to 8.30 p.m. Coupon books will be issued fr om Whakatane, Kopeopeo, Awakeri, Edgecumbe and Te Teko - Post Offices.
