A pair of little-known facts reared their startling heads the other daj?- at Warner’s Studio, to becloud the reputations of two famous directors, Mike Curtiz and William Dierterle. Both of these celebrated gentlemen once worked for the same European circus. Mike currently directing “Life With Father” was featured as the Strong Man whilst Dierterle was the Medicine Man, and sold cure-all po'tions to ailing people. REGENT ‘Thrill Of A Romance” (Sat. 12, Mon. 14, Tues. 15, Wed. 16). Carlton Young, as the big business man who lets a “big deal” interfere with his honeymoon with Esther; Francis Gifford as the spoiled,' rich daugher of a big-shot financier; and Henry Travers and Spring Byington as Esther’s screwball Uncle and Aunt are all delightfully entertaining in the cast of “Thrill Of A Romance” which stars Esther Williams and Van Johnson. The picture is recognised as being one of M.G.M.’s top musical shows, and with Lauritz Melchior, the famed operatic tenor, and Tommy Dorsey and his Orchestra in support, all audiences can expect grand entertainment. “The Valley of Decision.” (Season commences Sat. 19). Book early for this picture. It Is in the same field as Mrs Miniver, Mrs Parkington and the other top-line dramatic productions. It is definitely a must-see on the October calendar.
