Rev. K. Liggett, of Opotiki, was the adjudicator and a very enjoyable day was spent. During the day the hall was packed to capacity. The programme, was a very lengthy one, seven teams competing coming from Otara, Manawahe, Matata, Whakatane, Edgecumbe, Otakiri and Taneatua. The winning play entitled “Anticlockwise” was presented by Edgecumbe with Whakatane 2nd, Matata 3rd. The award for the best individual performer went to Mrs Speirs and Miss J. Blair with equal marks. The acting throughout the day was of a high standard and the whole programme was well received by an enthusiastic audience.
