EDGECUMBE CLUB ACTIVITIES TANEATUA TEAM DEFEATED After a series of matches those members of the Edgecumbe Chess Club taking part in ladder competitions now hold the following positions: E. Rogers, A. Marx, J. Harris, P. Melville, V. Marx, A. Teesdale, K. Marx, R. Mundy, P. Crystall, L. Crystall, L. Martin, E. Briggs and R. Thompson. On Monday evening a team from Edgecumbe visited Taneatua and defeated the local representatives by nine matches to three. Following are the results, Edgecumbe players being mentioned first: E. Rogers beat I. Hunt and Gilray; A. Marx lost to R. Ducker and beat T. Hunt; P. Melville lost to R. Ducker and beat I. Hunt and McGillivray; Teesdale beat I. Hunt and Gilray, V. Marx beat T. Hunt and McGillivray and lost to Attwood.
