Return of Eagle Flight
The Dunedin mare, Eagle Flight, by Golden Eagle—Weatherstep, who was supported for the Caulfield Cup, broke down while contesting the Epsom Cup. She is being brought back to New Zealand. Ostentatious Wins The Dink—Lucy Lu gelding, Ostentatious scored a clear cut victory in the Waihi Hack Handicap at New Plymouth. He is expected to go on to bigger successes. Lucy Lu is from the Polymestor mare Lady Mestor, the dam of a winner in King Mestor.
Weight-for-Age Events Kindergarten has arrived at AwapUni and joined up with C. Thompson’s team. He is only to be raced in Weight-for-age events.'The champion has not raced since January, 1945, so is all the more likely to stand a preparation.
A Cambridge Hunt Winner
After winning the Point to Point Steeplechase at Cambridge Mr J. S. Boswell’s Show Day broke a blood vessel and expired.
A Record Six Furlongs The filly U Time, by Beau Pere, was the winner last month of the Hollywood Lassie Stakes, of 20,000 dollars by five lengths in time equal to the six furlongs record for the race. Truly the Beau Pere’s are keeping in the American limelight.
