BASKETBALL CLUB’S GALA DAY
ALL roads will lead to the Whakatane Domain on Saturdaynext when in an effort to raise sufficient funds to lay down permanent courts, the local Basketball Association will stage a combined gala and team display. The objective is one which must appeal to residents in town and country for it. aims'at creating an asset which will be used by the youth of this district for years to come. Already Whakatane stands high in the Basketball world, its representatives never failing to give an excellent account of themselves in representative games, Saturday’s gala, which includes a challenge match with a selected businessmen’s team, is a direct appeal to the public which we feel will have a ready response.
