Nearly Into Form Gavinmor, a member of J. H. Wallace’s team at Takanini, is galloping freely on the training tracks. He is engaged in the Wanganui Guineas, and should make a good showing in that race.

For Wellesley Stakes

The Riccarton trained Finis colt Kartikaya, is being prepared for the Wellesley Stakes to be run at Trentham in January. In the meantime he is showing plenty of speed on the tracks. Recent additions to the team are Cornwall Park and Quickstep. Back to Work Southland’s principle stakes winner in the past two seasons, Signal Officer, has again been put into work.

New Zealand’s Champion

After a light preparation at Gisborne Kindergarten has joined C. Thompson’s team at Awapuni. He is expected by his owner, Mr E. N. Fitzgerald, to stand another preparation. If so the opposition in Weight-for-Age events will certainly have to march fast.

The Speedy Gay Flame Season by season Palmerston North brings forward some of the Dominion’s most successful jumpers. At present Gay Flame is regarded its speediest hack-hurdler. He is to be ridden in his engagements by Aubrey Midwood so will not be one of the outsiders.

In the Juvenile Parade at the Pakuranga fixture, Parisian Gold by Te Hero —Envolee finished in front. He galloped through the mud in fine style and went fast..

Paige’s Raid Paige’s Raid, the victor in three steeplechases at the Canterbury meeting, is by Night Raid—Royal Coat by Pink Coat, by Hunting Song. As a two year old he was sold for £SO, and is now regarded a real bargain.

Favourite for Derby Australian bookmakers now state that the demand for Lord Bar won for the Melbourne Cup has ceased. He has, however, been installed first favourite for the Australian Derby to be run on November 2.

The Wanganui Guineas Thirteen acceptances have been listed for the Wanganui Guineas. The principal fancies for this event are Gavinmor, Julius Caesar, Blue Tie and Robin’s Reward.
