TE TEKO LADIES’ CLUB

This week the September Medal will be played. Following is the draw;—

Thursday: Mrs Thomas and Miss Murray; Mrs Hutton and Mrs Burr; Mrs Mcßride and Miss Knight; Mrs Balfour and Mrs Cannell.

Sunday: Mrs Moulden and Miss Walker; Mrs Anderson and Mrs Burr.

The results of the August Medal which was played last week resulted: ‘B’ grade, Mrs Moulden 124—36, 8. ‘C’ grade, Miss Murray 123. The second qualifying round for the Club Championships was also completed last week. The first rounds of the play-off must be completed by September 15, players to make their own arrangements for playing times. Following is the draw:— Senior Championship: Mrs Thomas v Mrs Moulden; Mrs Balfour v Mrs Goodwin.

Junior Championship: Miss Murray a bye; Mrs Caldwell v Miss Knight; Mrs Burr v Miss Walker; Mrs Mcßride a bye.

WHAKATANE LADIES’ CLUB On Wednesday and Saturday of this week a Stableford Bogey competition will be played. There will be no draw, so players may arrange their own partners. Saturday players will play their 3rd qualifying round for the championship.

WHAKATANE MEN’S CLUB On Saturday the men’s foursome was won by E. T. Dawson and A. C. Anderson with a score of 90—161— 73£. The final of the Founders • Cup was played on Sunday between N. Hockin and A. H. Morpeth, Hockin winning 3 and 2. The Buttons were not contested last weekend and the challengers for next weekend are Hyland and Dawson.

Next Saturday the final qualifying round for the club championships will be played and members are requested to arrange their own threes. All members, particularly juniors, who have only one qualifying round score in are asked to put their cards in on Saturday. On Sunday, September 15, an in-ter-club match will be played against Rotorua at Whakatane. Players desiring to participate are asked to enter their names on the list at the club-house.
