When she slipped and fell at her home last Tuesday, Mrs E. E. Sykes of Taneatua, fractured her left leg. She was admitted to the Whakatane Public Hospital, where her condition is now reported to be satisfactory.

Straying Horses Being the owner of several horses which were found at large on the Paroa road on July 18 last, cost V. A. D. Nathan the sum of £3 and costs (33/6), when the case was brought before the Magistrate at yesterday’s court sitting. The County Traffic Inspector (Mr C. A. Carling) added the interesting observation that three days prior to the offence, defendant’s same horses had been impounded at Edgecumbe, and released by him.
