* MONTHLY MEETING
The monthly meeting of the Wha- i katane Plunket Society was held in the Plunket rooms recently, Mesdames Cairns (chair), Dainton, King, Roach, Patterson, Morpeth, Jessop and Caisley (secretary) being present. Apologies were received from Mesdames Shapley, Morgan, Kingsley-Smith, Knights ’ and Zinsli. ... ,
The Nurse’s report for July was received, and the monthly accounts were passed for payment.
A letter was received from Tau- - ranga stating that that branch re- / ; quired. an extra Nurse,' and .enquiring if Whakatane would combines with them in obtaining the services’ of an extra Nurse to work both the districts. In conjunction,- a letter ! was received from Head Office, Dun- ifi edin, stating that at -the present"/! time a serious shortage of Nurses prevailed, but it was hoped that conditions would ease later.. ' .VS The, president intimated that the-" branch’s annual street collection;-', and stall would be held on Friday,' - November 2, and that the annual V meeting would take place at the 7 Methodist Hall, King Street, , on. Wednesday, August 28,' at 2.30 p.m.
