FORTHCOMING DEBATE

Y.F.C. LEADING TEAMS

WAIMANA VERSUS WAIKATO The leading debating team in the recently conducted debating contest amongst the district Young Farmers’ Clubs, is Waimana. This group of promising young orators comprises John Cranston, John Marra and David White, and it is they who as champions of the Eastern area will be called upon to debate with the Waikato Champions for provincial honours. The event will take place in Tauranga on September 11 at 8 p.m. when the subject will be ‘That the New Zealand Railway System is Obsolete.’ Waikato will take the affirmative and Waimana the negative. The adjudicator will be Mr H. Woodyear Smith. We extend our best wishes to the Waimana boys for their success.
