Karapiro Costs ?
A request to the Minister, of Works for the cost to date, together with the estimated cost, of the Karapiro hydro-electric works, now nearing completion, was sought in the House of Representatives by Mr W. Sullivan (National, Bay of Plenty) in a notice of question. Mr Sullivan also asked the Minister to state the earliest date that the scheme would be in production in part or in full. Seventy Pounds of Fat Last week in response tp the present fat-collecting campaign some 701bs. of fat were received at the Whakatane depot.' The total now on hand approaches the 3cwt. mark, and this will be despatched within the course of a week or two.
