BRITISH SERGEANT WEDS BARONESS
A 31-year-old Royal Artillery sergeant, Norman Simpson, has married an Austrian . baroness, Margit Eperjessy, in Vienna. They are honeymooning in Venice. <■ Simpson, who was a chemist’s assistant before the war, is stationed at the British Embassy in Vienna, and broke the news to his mother, who is the widow of a gas engineer living at Grismby. His mother said: “Norman was always shy and his letters to me always ended, ‘Your loving bachelor son.’ “His recent letters said how marvellously beautiful were the woods round Vienna, and he then said he was bringing back a wife and hoped I would not be too shocked when I learnt who she was.”
