Gardens and Income Tax
An interesting suggestion about income tax was made by Mr D. Combridge in an address on gardening to the Christchurch Business Men’s Club. “It would be an excellent idea, I think, to have a space on every income tax form showing a deduction from wages allowed for work put into our gardens,” he said. “I think you will all agree that a percentage of the costs of looking after our gardens should be taken off our income' tax before it arrives.” Mr Combridge’s suggestion was heartily applauded.
