Mr L. H. Brown (President) pre-.§ sided over the monthly meeting 'held.; on Friday evening. Apologies for absence were received from Rev.'. Rangi and Messrs. L. W. Luxton ? and J. H. Armstrong.

Messrs, C. R. Wilson and D. S. Wilson were appointed delegates to the conference to be held at Te. Kuiti on August 31. A letter of thanks was received from a Returned Serviceman for i ... the donation of a heifer, and an. application for replacement of ag heifer was approved in the case of • another Serviceman. •A*

R.S.A. Headquarters advised that; it was proposed to issue a distinc-7, tive badge to the Women’s Section. ; of the R.S.A. and asked for an expression of an opinion on the proposal. Several members spoke oa! the excellent work done by the men’s Section and it was unanimously agreed to support the proposal. The secretary was instructed to write to the Hospital Board asking that the name plates donated by the', R.S.A. should be kept on the beds ; of soldier patients. The president =. stated on a recent visit to the hospital not one of the plates was vis-. ible, and they were of assistance to visiting members. ■

The Social Committee advised; that arrangements were • well in: hand for the Annual Smoko.to be"' held on Saturday night. It was anti- < cipated a-record crowd would bepresent. Roll of Honour: It was decided. ' to go into ways and means of compiling a Roll of Honour of mem£; bers of the Second World War and • the secretary was instructed to make 1 initial enquiries and to report - to the next meeting.
