OTAKIRI MEETING The August meeting of the Otatiki Women’s Institute was held on August 7. There was a good attendance of members and Mrs Armstrong was in the chair. Roll Call: An emergency lunch with ingredients—flourj egg, cheese, and one vegetable brought forth many good ideas for using up the left-ovex’S. . The delegate’s (Mi'S Armstrong’s) report of the conference in Welling--ton was received. She presented a vivid outline of the proceedings and drew the appreciation of the gathering. Competitions general; (a) Wool mop, Mrs Cristall -1; Mrs Mackrell 2; Mrs F. Mayo 3. (b) Jam tart, Mrs Peck 1; Mrs Mackrell 2; Mrs Cristall 3. (c) Bowl of flowers for effect, Mrs F. Mayo 1; Mrs Smith 2; Mrs Peck 3. Afternoon tea was served by Mrs W. J. Murray and Mrs Hutton. The meeting closed with the singing of the National Anthem.
