FLY-CONTROL PLAN
SUCCESS IN AMERICA * The Wall Street Journal states that the D.D.T. fly-control programme in Kansas and Oklahoma is adding millions of pounds weight of beef and butter, and millions of gallons of milk to the nation’s supply and is also improving the quality of leather. Herds protected by D.D.T. gained 32 per cent, more weight than untreated animals and increased their milk supply by from 10 to 25 per cent. A solution of one part of D.D.T. to 399 parts of water did not injure live stock but was effective against flies, lice, ticks and many other animal pests.
