BADMINTON
WIN FOR AWAKERI MATCH AGAINST THORNTON Awakeri defeated Thornton in an inter-club match held at Awakeri on Wednesday last. The games were very closely contested and thoroughly enjoyed by all. Final results were 9 games each, Awakeri winning by a margin of 27 points. Details were as under, Thornton names being mentioned first in each case:— Men’s Doubles: J. Hyland and B. Peni 21, W. At the conclusion of the evening Mr Fred Jensen called for three hearty cheers for the Thornton Club. Mr Jack Hyland in reply thanked Awakeri for the enjoyable evening and the supper provided.
