BASKETBALL
SATURDAY’S MATCHES Following are the matches to be played under the auspices of the Whakatane Basketball Association on Saturday, August 10. Players are requested to note the alterations in the times of play:— 2.15 p.m: Rovers v Edgecumbe. 2.45 p.m: Whakatane A v Paroa.
All other matches will be played at times stated in Wednesday’s Beacon.
A general meeting of the Association will be held at the Borough Council Chambers on Friday, 9th August at 8.45 p.m. All delegates are requested to attend. The following players will represent Whakatane:— - Whakatane A: P. Carter, J. Howat, N. Kenyon, M. Howat, B. Armstrong, J. Ching, J. Bluett, S. Howat, J. Lynds. Reserves: D. Stewart, N. Rivett, P. Chadwick, L. Quigg, M. Hall, J. Small, M. Moore, G. Harrison,- P. Appleby. Rovers: D. Jeffares, N. Ranby, D. Wilson, M. Farrell, V. Harrison, N. Doherty, V. Bowering, T. Symmans, V. Head.
