LOCAL TENOR

MR JOHN MOODY’S SUCCESS At present drawing crowded audiences in the Town Hall Concert Chamber, Auckland, Mr John Moody, of Onepu, may be described as Whakatane’s most successful singer of recent years. The son of Mr and Mrs J. H. Moody, of Onepu, he was educated at the Otakiri school and spent most of his life in this district. In Auckland at the present time he is singing Irish airs, which are the main theme of his recitals. Mr Moody is only 24 years old, -and it is his intention to tour 25 towns in this country before proceeding to Australia where he will, -study for four years at the Sydney Gonservatorium before going on to England. He is almost entirely selftaught and is a natural singer. From what we understand it is his intention to make at least one appearance in Whakatane before he leaves the Dominion. To him go our heartiest congratulations on his success.
