Aidrich completed his tour of the Eastern Bay last Thursday after contacting the various troops throughout the territory. On Wednesday he visited the Rotoiti troop where some 18 Maori boys are engaged under S.M. Morgan. He. visited Thornton: also and was accorded a warm greeting by members of the committees' who provided a light supper after*an informal address. The Commissioner (‘Kauri’) also inspected thetroop and congratulated them on their progress. The final trip to Opotiki saw a record number of Scouts, Cubs and. Committee members. Commissioner Lofley introduced the Waiotahi Troop, while S.M. Jones spoke forthe Opotiki lads. A very enjoyable?* evening was spent, during the* course of which ‘Kauri’ presented, his A.S.M. warrant to Assistant Scoutmaster Newell.
