FEDERATED FARMERS

BAY OF PLENTY PROVINCE DESIRE FOR UNITY At an Executive meeting of the above held on July 18, 1946, the following resolution was carried unanimously:— “That this meeting of the Executive of the Bay of Plenty Province of Federated Farmers of New Zealand Incorporated, after considering all the available facts relative to joining up with Federated Farmers of N.Z.- (Auckland Province) Inc., have decided that, having been granted Provincial status as the Bay of Plenty Province of the Federar tion, they do not wish to pursue the matter any further, but will stand by the powers and authorities granted them by Dominion Council. They will retain their Provincial status, and therefore disassociate themselves from any moves to upset in any way such status. “The meeting also reaffirms its decision that if the Dominion Council can place before this Province any practicable suggestion that will bring about unity between all the farming organisations in New Zealand this Executive will be quite willing to give the matter every consideration.”

Members are requested as a result by the Executive to refrain from attending any meetings other than those called under the name of Bay of Plenty Province-, of Federated Farmers of New Zealand Incorporated.
