WAINGARARA SALE
KEEN DEMAND FROM BUYERS Messrs. Dalgety and Co. Ltd. report having held a clearing sale at Waingarara on account of Mr M. S. Tipping. The cattle came forward in excellent condition to be offered to a full and representative bench of buyers from Hamilton, Manawahe, Whakatane, Waimana and Opotiki districts. Keen demand, particularly for the more forward cattle was maintained throughout the sale. Two pedigree cows made £3O and £32 respectively. The top price realised for the grade cows was £2O 10s while £2O 10s was the top price realised for an outstanding quality heifer. The heifers though not quite as big as the average were of choice quality. The range of prices was as follows:—Pedigree cows, £3O to £32; early calving young cows 3rd and 4th cal vers, £lB to £2O 10s; 4th and sth calvers, £l4 to £l9; older cows, £lO 10s to £l4 10s; heifers, £lO 15s to £2O 10s.
The advertised farm implements and sundries changed hands at ruling market rates.
