WAIMANA HEIFER SALE Messrs. Dalgety and Co. Ltd. report having held their annnal dairy and heifer sale at Waimana on July 10 at Mr E. P. Woolfield’s yards when a yarding of cattle far in excess of the advertised numbers came forward. The stock without excep-
tion was in excellent condition and the majority of the dairy cows and heifers were showing well forward. Buyers were present from Whakatane and Opotiki as well as from
Waimana. Competition was keen throughout the sale for quality early
calving cows and heifers. Practically a total clearance was effected at prices well on a par with recent clearing sale quotations. We quote: Sheep: M.S. hoggets, small, £l.
Fat Cattle: Light fat Jersey and Jersey cross cows, £7; dairy cows, 2nd and 3rd calvers £l9 to £2O 10s; August calvers £l4 to £lB 10s; older cows and later calvers £lO to £l4; dairy heifers, early calving Jersey heifers £l2 to £l3 10s; Ayrshire cross dairy heifers £l2 to £l3; smaller heifers £9 10s to £l2; small and later calvers £5 to £9; yearling Jersey heifers, medium sized £5 to £6 ss; empty 2-year heifers £3 5s to £4 10s; boners £3 10s to £4 15s; service bulls £2O; yearling bulls £4 to £5; potter bulls to £7 2s 6d\
