WEDDING BELLS
ANSON—KENNY The wedding was solemnised at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, New Plymouth, of Irene, daughter of Mr and Mrs Kenny, Bendigo, Australia, and Philip Anson, Edgecumbe. Nuptial Mass was celebrated by the Rev. Father G. J. Donoghue.
The bride, who was escorted by the bridegroom’s uncle, Mr A. H. Holden, wore a frock of white cloque over pink. Small self-covered buttons down the back formed a line from the neck to the waist and the close-fitting sleeves came to a point over the hands. She wore a pale pink tulle veil and carried a shower bouquiet of white roses and spring flowers.
She was attended by a_ cousin of the bridegroom, Miss M. Holden, New Plymouth, who wore a frock of deep pink taffeta to a low waist with a full skirt of georgette. The ’ skirt was edged with a narrow frill of the same taffeta. She wore a topknot of natural flowers and carried a shower bouquet.
Mr I. Rundle, New Plymouth, was best man.
At the reception at the Grosvenor Hotel, the guests were received by Mrs Holden.
For travelling, the bride chose a dress of fawn silk, with a fawn check cape, and brown accessories. Mr and Mrs Anson’s new home will be at Edgecumbe.
